Dr. Judy J. Stamey

Dr. Judy StameyDr. Stamey serves as president and co-founder of the CBA Associates Training Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She and Dr. Bill Caldwell opened the training center in 2004.  Their joy of team teaching, which had been a part of their ministry for thirty years, was interrupted when Dr. Caldwell became ill September, 2006.  However, Judy's commitment and passion to share her experience, skills and knowledge with other church administrators and staff members continues to be strong. 

Dr. Stamey served for five years as an adjunct professor in Administration assisting Dr. Caldwell in the development and operation of the Doctor of Educational Ministry degree program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. She has served churches in Texas and North Carolina.  Before becoming an adjunct professor at Southwestern, she served 18 years as Minister of Education and Administration at Ridglea West Baptist Church.  

Judy received her B.A. in religious education from Gardner Webb University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Church Administration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She is certified in church administration by the NACBA and SBCBAA. Dr.Stamey is also certified as a LIFO (communication styles) trainer by Stuart Atkins of California.

Judy has received many honors over the years, including Who's Who from both Gardner Webb University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her most recent honors are: Distinguished Alumni by Gardner Webb University, inducted into the Hall of Fame by the National Association of Church Business Administration, and Who's Who in Religion.

Dr. Stamey, who served as the Associate Director of the Southwestern Seminary Certification Program for 27 years, will assume the role as Director due to the illness of Dr. Caldwell.  Stamey also serves as the Certification Coordinator for the Southern Baptist Church Business Administration Association for Church Administrators. She has written many articles for the Church Administration magazine and contributed chapters in the second and third editions of Church Administration Handbook. Dr. Stamey is a frequent speaker at retreats, workshops and conferences, specializing in church personnel administration and staff development.

She is married to Wade Stamey, and they have 3 daughters, 1 grandson, and 1 granddaughter. They are members of Travis Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
